Shadow Cyber Security Minister James Paterson says we already have Indigenous voices in the Federal Parliament and they are “ignored”.

Uluru Statement Signatory Thomas Mayor says the Voice to Parliament is a “practical reform” as Indigenous Australians are “tired” of symbolism.

“It’s really about establishing the principle that Indigenous people should be listened to,” Mr Mayor told Sky News Australia.

“We know that when Indigenous people are listened to about the solutions in their communities, then that is when things are gotten right.

Official campaign against Indigenous Voice to be launched

A formal campaign against the Indigenous Voice to Parliament will be launched today.

A committee comprised of former and current MPs and Indigenous figures will argue enshrining a Voice to Parliament will negatively influence Australia s system of democracy.

The campaign titled Recognise a Better Way will propose a preamble to the Constitution and a new parliamentary committee focused on the rights of native title holders under existing legislation.
