West Caldwell, N.J.: I’ve lived in the greater New York City area for 40 years and up until last March, served the city as a yellow cab driver full-time for the last eight of them. I’ve been watching this year’s mayoral race closely as nearly every quality of life issue has gone downhill. I was hoping that “Ed, Dave, Rudy, Mike, Bill and Me” (op-ed, Feb. 28) would give me better insight into many of the frontrunners vying to replace Big Bird next year. Unfortunately, this piece left me disappointed.
Huntington, L.I.: Although the world around us sometimes seems like it’s going mad, and when supposed societal leaders, again and again, go from popular to precarious in a nanosecond, we thankfully witnessed the glorious back page of the Daily News last Thursday with a gorgeous full-page black and white picture of Yankee legend Lou Gehrig.
