Junior League Gainesville works to end hunger The Junior League of Gainesville is marking significant milestones and making plans to reduce food insecurity in the Gainesville community, an important priority to the League since it was founded in 1935 that is more crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to immediate food needs brought on by the pandemic, the Junior League of Gainesville provided 1,500 pounds of food to their community partners Food4Kids BackPack Program, SWAG (SW Advocacy Group), and Catholic Charities in March 2020. During the Amazing Give of August 2020, the Junior League raised $13,500 to purchase an electric pallet lift for the Food4Kids BackPack Program. With the help of the pallet lift, Food4Kids volunteers can move boxes of donations around their warehouse with ease, boosting their efficiency and storage capabilities, allowing more children to receive weekend food packs. ....
