It may be noted that a week ago, the Wakad police had arrested three men identified as
Shashikant Panchal, Krishana
Patil and Nikhil Neharkar during a surprise check at a nakabandi point. They had then recovered 21 remdesivir injections from them. After further investigations, the police found out that Dr Panchal was the brain behind the crime. ....

In another case of online fraud, a receptionist working in a hospital in Wakad has been arrested for cheating the hospital and numerous visiting patients through mobile payment gateways. The owner of the hospital, Dr Swaroop Solunkhe, has registered a case against the receptionist.
It has been revealed that Kalpana Salunkhe’s fraudulent behaviour has been going on at least since December 2020, with more than 100 patients falling prey to it. The expose was that Kalpana Salunkhe used to transfer part of the amount of treatment by patients through Google Pay in her personal bank account. Although only 13 patients have come forward with the complaint, it is suspected that many more are likely to be affected by the scam. ....
