According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the prevalence of vitiligo in India ranges from 0.25% to 4% among dermatology outpatients, with higher rates reported in certain regions like Gujarat and Rajasthan, reaching up to 8.8%. World Vitiligo Day was first observed in 2011 and has since been commemorated worldwide on June 25th each year.
