Vandalism tonight. Good evening. The group gathered on this Indigenous Peoples day to call for the removal of a statue. Than a Small Group Tour the statue down. Our reporter is outside the church with how things escalated tonight. The protest was held here on fifth avenue. The protest lasted only about 1 hour. He was what is left. The feet and the base. Is a good day. On this monday, members held a protest in downtown san rafael. They were joined by dozens of supporters. Organizer say does a day to honor Indigenous People. To tell our true history and who we are. Our people were forced to be her. They did not ask to come here but they were enslaved to. Before the protest, a Church Maintenance worker wrapped the statue in duct tape and took other precautions. He covered another statue. He boarded up windows at the mission.
