Some gummy vitamins sold under the popular Vitafusion brand are being recalled because they could contain pieces of metal.
In a recall notice posted on the federal Food and Drug Administration’s website, New Jersey-based Church & Dwight said it ”initiated a voluntary recall of select Vitafusion gummy products after the company’s investigation of two consumer reports identified the possible presence of a metallic mesh material.”
The products were manufactured from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3, according to the notice, which said the company is not aware of any reports of consumer illness or injury but warned that, in “some severe cases, ingesting a metallic material could lead to damage of the digestive tract.”

A popular vitamin brand has been forced to recall some of its gummy products that may potentially contain metal due to a manufacturing issue.
New Jersey-based Church & Dwight said that it “initiated a voluntary recall of select vitafusion gummy products after the company’s investigation of two consumer reports identified the possible presence of a metallic mesh material,” according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Items subject to recall were manufactured in a four-day period between Oct. 29 and Nov. 20 last year. The products were distributed in stores and through Internet retailers between Nov. 13, 2020, and Thursday, April 9.

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (CHD) has recalled five types of Vitafusion gummy vitamins due to possible contamination of a metallic mesh material in the product.
The recall affects select Vitafusion product lots manufactured between Oct. 29, 2020, and Nov. 3, 2020. The contaminated vitamins were sold in-store and through online retailers between Nov. 13, 2020, and April 9, 2021.
