Shots Fired in I.V. Late Friday Night | The Daily Nexus

Following reports of gunshots from Isla Vista residents near Sueno Road, the Isla Vista Foot Patrol pursued a potentially armed suspect late Friday night into early Saturday morning. The fleeing suspect was not apprehended. 
Isla Vista Foot Patrol’s (IVFP) Community Resource Deputy Justin Schroeder said that the suspect shot their gun by 6631 Sueno Road. According to Schroeder, the residents of that location refused to provide any information and did not press charges. 
Schroeder told the Nexus Saturday morning that IVFP “found a bullet casing, but there were no cooperative witnesses, no damage, no victim and no suspect identified.” ....

2014 was a difficult year for Isla Vista. Community members and college students experienced a meningitis outbreak and the Deltopia “riots,” along with several publicized drive-by shootings and sexual assaults, according to Darcel Elliott, who, in 2014, worked for former Assemblymember Das Williams.

But none of these events are remembered in the same way as the 2014 Isla Vista Tragedy.  
Six people lost their lives on May 23, 2014: George Chen, Cheng Yuan “James” Hong, Weihan “David” Wang, Katherine Breann Cooper, Christopher Ross Michaels-Martinez and Veronika Weiss.  ....
