Former Virginia Delegate "Pete" Giesen passes away

Former Virginia Delegate A.R Pete Giesen passed away on Friday, April 2.
Giesen was 88 years old and had served in the Virginia House of Delegates for over 30 years, from 1964 to 1974 and later again from 1975 to 1996.
After his political career, Giesen taught as a part-time political science professor at James Madison University.
Politicians who knew Giesen personally used social media over the weekend to share their memories and condolences with others, including Senator Emmett Hanger, former Delegate Steve Landes and others.
Virginia government records state that during Giesen s time as a delegate, he represented citizens of Augusta, Bath, Highland, and Rockingham Counties and the Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro. ....

On Saturday, February 6th, 2021, Virginia Delegate and candidate for Lt. Governor of VA , Hala Ayala, hosted a Survivors of Gun Violence Awareness panel, via Zoom, LIVE on Facebook. The event was made public for anyone to join in and watch,
“Delegate Hala Ayala Presents: National Gun Violence Survivors Week Roundtable.”
About 20 or so gun control activists were included, including members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America as well as Lori Haas of The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. There was also myself and two other gun rights activists who happened to be “allowed” in.

If you’re a gun rights activist in VA and don’t know who Lori Haas is… you should. Lori found her role in gun control activism back when her daughter, Emily, attended VA Tech in 2007. He has also uploaded some of his riot selfies to his Bumble dating app
