Malcolm Mitchell, a former member of the New England Patriots and University of Georgia football team, visited Vineville Academy of the Arts on Monday to read his new book, "My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World."
The Bibb County School District celebrated its Teachers of the Year Monday at the Grand Opera House in Macon. This year's winner, Kimberly Barton, teaches fourth grade at Vineville Academy of the Arts.
Alexander II Magnet School, Carter Elementary School, Skyview Elementary School and Vineville Academy of the Arts are being recognized for performance and improvement.
