Suspect in criminal mischief investigation found, but investigation continues

The Angelo State University Police Department announced Monday that their suspect in the library vandalism on April 30 was found outside of San Angelo.

ASUPD Chief James Adams said Vincent Ray Duenas was located in the Central Texas region after a weekend of searching. Duenas was also believed to have been involved in an incident at Goodfellow Aire Force Base in which witnesses reported he was brandishing a machete or sword type weapon.

He was issued a criminal trespass warning from the campus and is not allowed back on campus until such time he sees University Police, Adams told The Ram Page. This is still an active investigation, and we are still investigating the incident. ....

The third floor of the Porter Henderson Library is the scene of an investigation after being vandalized between Thursday afternoon and 7 a.m. on April 30.

The whiteboards and projector screen in Room 326 were written on, as well as a variety of the posters in the room. Other posters in the hallway to the classroom were crossed out.

Dr. Ellada Gamreklidze, an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Mass Media, first discovered the room being vandalized. She arrived at the library around 7:30 a.m. and noticed the posters in the elevator had been marked on, but thought nothing of it at first. ....
