Supporters of Mawogola North constituency contestant Sodo Aine Kaguta have protested his withdraw from the race saying that he did not consult them.
Led by Vincent Kimbugwe, they are accusing Kaguta of disappointing and betraying them at a time they hoped for a change in leadership.
The Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo has also condemned Sodo’s decision to pull out of the race well knowing he had a vast majority of supporters.
Sodo however says his decision follows a meeting with his brother President Museveni who has advised him to stand down to avoid conflicts within the family.
It is reported that Museveni met with Sodo and his main challenger Minister Sam Kutesa’s daughter Shartis Musherure last evening and that it was agreed Sodo steps down to avoid clashes between the two families.
