Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh has been accused by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of his involvement in a Rs 370-crore skill development scam. The CID claims that Naidu played a pivotal role in diverting funds through a deceptive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The scheme allegedly involved collusions between Siemens representatives and government officials, inflating costs and bypassing regulations. The investigation revealed fake invoices and a lack of actual goods or services.
This case revolves around the establishment of clusters of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in the state of Andhra Pradesh, with a total estimated project value of Rs 3,300 crores.
