The official said measures would be taken to ensure maintenance of all the public toilets without compromising quality. “There are some contractors who consider maintenance of public toilets as their sole mandate but such people are only interested in collecting user fees and not concerned about the maintenance of toilets,’’ the BBMP official said.
But a drive or ride through any of the city’s major roads is enough to understand the inconvenience they are causing to motorists, especially two-wheeler riders and posing danger to unwary motorists.
Thanking the civic body for ensuring the streetlights are functioning, Basavaraj, another pedestrian, said that he wanted the authorities to restore the remaining defunct street lights to ensure the entire road is well-lit. “The street lights department of the BBMP has to trim tree branches that are blocking the light to ensure proper lighting on this road.
