罕见球状星团将用十亿年上演"大卸货"|银河系|黑洞|恒星_新浪科技_新浪网


球状星团是银河系中最早形成的一批恒星,甚至有约100亿年的历史。而据英国《自然·天文学》杂志5日发表的一项最新发现指出,名为帕洛玛5的球状星团将在10亿年时间内“喷完”它的所有恒星,最后只剩下十几个黑洞。这一崭新的研究结果对于人类重新理解星团的演化以及银河系其他星团的命运,具有重要意义。
球状星团因其外形类似球形而得名。它们由成千上万甚至数十万颗恒星组成,外貌呈球形,越往中心恒星越密集。目前已知球状星团里的恒星平均密度,甚至比太阳周围的恒星密度高数十倍,而它的中心附近则要大数万倍。此前研究认为,同一个球状星团内的恒星具有相同的演化历程,运动方向和速度都大致相同,它们很可能是在同时期形成的。
