Victorian government comes up with $633m plan to reboot tourism – Travel Weekly

The Victorian government has released a roadmap to help revitalise and grow the state’s tourism industry following the impacts of the bushfires and the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The four-year
Visitor Economy Recovery and Reform plan was launched at the Victorian Tourism Conference at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, with the conference itself a significant milestone as the largest gathering hosted at the venue since the pandemic.
The plan details support for a quick recovery for the domestic market and a framework to build a resilient sector that enables long-term growth.
It is underpinned by an investment of $633 million and serves as a whole-of-state strategy, with a goal of achieving $35 billion in annual visitor expenditure supporting 300,000 jobs by June 2024. ....

The Andrews Labor Government is backing growth in Victoria’s nation-leading tourism offering with 30 new infrastructure projects to break ground across the state.
From Rutherglen to Castlemaine and Swan Hill to Warburton, the $46 million investment in key local projects will create immediate jobs in construction and drive visitation and ongoing employment.

Regional Tourism Investment Fund – Stimulus Round included a landmark development at the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens in Olinda – the recreation of
Australian Garden by renowned Melbourne landscape designer Phillip Johnson.

Victoria Travel Vouchers: Regional Victoria travel vouchers snapped up within 20 minutes


The latest round of Victoria s regional travel vouchers have been snapped up within 20 minutes, as tens of thousands of Victorians rushed online to grab one of the free coupons.
The second batch of 40,000 vouchers, which are redeemable for travel between January 27 and April 1, were made available on the Service Victoria website at 10am.
After just 20 minutes of going live, the website advised the allocation had been exhausted.

Register for a $200 voucher to spend on accommodation, attractions or tours in regional Victoria.
Following a successful first round, the Victorian government has announced the return of its scheme to encourage Victorians to holiday within their state by dishing out $200 travel vouchers. Explorers are able to register for the initiative from 10am on Wednesday January 20.
