The Coffee Scene opened Tuesday inside The Residences at Prince Charles in downtown Fayetteville, the culmination of a plan more than two years in the making. Plans for the new café inside the historic former hotel were announced in January 2019, but had been repeatedly delayed largely due to the coronavirus pandemic, co-owner Victoria Stout said. The Coffee Scene, which opened its first cafe in 1996, also has locations in Cameron, Fort Bragg and on Morganton Road in Fayetteville, but for years had received requests from people urging them to open a downtown spot. They long rebuffed those invitations, but Stout said that when she first saw the space inside the Prince Charles, she knew she found the right spot. ....
