The Victim Support Fund, VSF, has installed solar boreholes, hand washing stations, and other Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, WASH facilities for 54 schools in 18 states.
The gesture, according to VSF is to support the gradual reopening of schools and to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in school communities.
Chairperson of VSF COVID-19 task force, Toyosi Akerele spoke weekend at Government Commercial Secondary School, Takum; one of the three benefiting schools in Taraba state.
The two other schools are Government Day Secondary School, JauroYinu, and Government Secondary School, Wukari in Ardo-Kola and Wukari LGA respectively. ....

Victim Support Fund Donates Solar Boreholes to Taraba Schools

The Victim Support Fund (VSF) Task Force on Covid-19, on Friday handed over three Solar boreholes to three selected schools spread across the three senatorial districts of Taraba State.
Also presented to the schools are four hand wash stations, 2000 pieces of reusable facemasks, five pieces of four litre hand sanitisers and 120 bottles of 500ml liquid hand wash as well as five cartons of bleach.
The three beneficiary schools in Taraba are Government Day Secondary School, Jauro Yino in Ardo-Kola Local Government, Government Secondary School Wukari and Government Commercial Secondary School, Takum.
Presenting the items at Government Secondary School Takum, Chairperson of the fund, Mrs Toyosi Akerele- Ogunsiji said the donation was aimed at improving sanitation and hygiene services in schools and communities across the state to check the spread of COVID-19. ....

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has received 60,000 COVID-19 test kits donation from the Victim Support Fund in response to combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
While making the donation during the Presidential Steering Committee Press Briefing on COVID-19, the Chairperson, Victim Support Fund COVID-19 Task Force, Mrs Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, said the donation was the single largest donation of rapid test kits to the NYSC, which would be used during its forthcoming orientation course.
She commended the Federal Government, the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, the NCDC and NYSC Director-General for their tireless efforts in tackling the dreaded virus. ....
