Council OKs 208-unit Honeycutt Run rental community

Council OKs 208-unit Honeycutt Run rental community The shortage of rental communities in Maricopa is quickly being addressed. The city council Tuesday night approved, 7-0, the third significant build-to-rent development in the city. Honeycutt Run is planned as a 20-acre, 208-unit community featuring one-, two- and three-bedroom homes for rent at the southeast corner of Honeycutt and Hartman roads. The gated community, which would lie within the larger development of Tortosa, will feature all single-story units. Sandbox Development Consultants in Phoenix is the project manager. The council recently gave the go-ahead to the Bungalows on Bowlin and West Maricopa Village, similar projects offering single family homes and duplexes for rent.

City council delays decision on recreational marijuana

InMaricopa Tena Dugan speaks to city council on Tuesday night about recreational marijuana dispensaries. One of the things that every one of you up here on this council preached to us is that if they can meet the requirements, any business can come to Maricopa . but in reality, we did everything we could to prevent it.” If Maricopa City Council was expecting significant public input at its work session on recreational marijuana, it may be disappointed. Just a handful of residents provided comments at Tuesday’s two-hour session, which ended with the council putting off a decision on the controversial issue.
