(UPDATE 5 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Sheriff s officials say the subject of a search Tuesday in the Orcutt area remains at large.
The man is wanted for an assault and robbery that was reported at about 9:13 a.m. in the 1100 block of Via Alta.
Sheriff s officials believe the suspect lives in the gully near Bradley Rd. and Via Alta adjacent to the Okerblom Trail. He is described as being 25-35 years old with a scruffy beard and was last seen wearing a black shirt and tan pants.
Shelter-in-place lifted in Orcutt after deputies search for robbery suspect
ORCUTT, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Office lifted a shelter-in-place in Orcutt that was issued Tuesday afternoon.
The Sheriff s Office issued the shelter-in-place just before 3 p.m. on Via Alta from Bradley Road to Via Riviera.
At around 9:1 a.m., deputies responded to reports of an assault robbery on the 1100 block of Via Alta.
The suspect reportedly stole the victim s personal property, battered the victim and then fled the scene before deputies arrived.

The victim sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
