1796 suspects aged between 21 and 59 were arrested for various offences ranging from burglaries, business robberies, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles, possession and dealing in drugs, possession of unlicensed firearms, Contravention of Disaster Management Act to contravention of the Immigration Act, during the simultaneous and parallel joint operations including the Detectives Operation “Thata zonke” and the Tactical Intelligence-led Joint operations comprised of several other Police Units such as the SAPS Limpopo Highway Patrol Team, POCC, Crime Intelligence, Crime Prevention, Public Order Police Unit, etc. The operations which were conducted through roadblocks, patrols, stop and searches including tracing of wanted suspects, recovered a variety of items such as 06 firearms, 05 suspected stolen motor vehicles, 407 sticks of counterfeit cigarettes, 60 dangerous weapons including 33 knives, 178 grams of dagga, 177 dagga plants, cocaine drugs powder, crystal myt ....

The ongoing Festive Season joint operations in the Vhembe District, comprising the Provincial Crime Intelligence Unit, Thohoyandou Crime Intelligence Unit, Polokwane Tactical Response Team (TRT) with Vhembe First Responder Team (FRT) and Vhembe District Detectives led to the arrest of a 33-year-old suspect and a 65-year-old Traditional healer for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition yesterday, on 21 December 2020 at about 02:00. The members operationalised information received about the existence of illegal firearms in a house at Madimbo village in the Tshamutumbu policing area. On arrival at the said premises, and the suspect managed to evade arrest after a shootout with the police. No one was injured and a case of attempted murder was opened at Tshamutumbu police station. ....
