(KTVZ) The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs is excited to announce the outstanding trio of women veteran leaders who will headline the first-ever virtual Oregon Women Veterans Conference on Saturday, May 22. This free biennial conference, organized by ODVA for more than 22 years, celebrates the contributions, diversity and strength of Oregon’s women veteran community, and is the largest gathering of women-identifying veterans in the state. VAntage Point Project Sanctuary helps military families heal Project Sanctuary hosts Veteran and active duty families through six-day therapeutic retreats at locations across the United States. While at retreats, families participate in sessions directed at improving relationships, financial literacy and mental health. Recreational activities are strategically designed to improve family cohesiveness by providing opportunities that create bonding, improved communication and trust. The key elements of these retreats allow for connections between Veterans and other Veterans, families with other families, and Project Sanctuary staff and volunteers with participants. VAntage Point Veteran caregivers fulfill Lincoln’s ‘borne the battle’ charge, says SecVA Speaking at an Elizabeth Dole Foundation event, McDonough said he will fight for both Veterans and families. “A key priority of the president’s guidance is to keep faith with families and caregivers,” he said.
