COVID-19 numbers:
Texas: More than 2.1 million cases have been reported in the state, and more than 39,000 people in Texas have died, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Central Texas counties: 
Travis County: At least 72,972 cases have been reported and at least 701 people have died. At least 68,576 people have recovered from the virus.
Hays County: At least 15,794 confirmed cases have been reported and at least 201 people have died. At least 14,034 people have recovered from the virus. 
Williamson County: At least 34,101 cases have been reported in the county and at least 362 people have died. At least 32,796 people have recovered from the virus. ....

Austin live music venues receive $1.34M in emergency funding
The City of Austin is providing $1.34 million in emergency funding to local live music venues impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
AUSTIN, Texas - The City of Austin is providing $1.34 million in emergency funding to local live music venues impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 67 local live music venues will receive relief grants from the city. 
Economic Development Department and Long Center staff worked through the holidays to get these funds to local live music venues, notes Veronica Briseño, Austin s Chief Economic Recovery Officer. We are proud that this support has benefited many cultural and economic icons in our community, and we are determined to build upon the initial grants by offering support through technical assistance and additional financial resources. ....

In Live Music Preservation Fund's First Week, 79 Austin Venues Applied for Relief: The slow road to dedicated venue funding now moving fast - Music

Since applications opened for the Live Music Venue Preservation Fund last Friday, operators of 79 different venues have filed for assistance that could total up to $160,000 for each business.
The effort, a component of the City of Austin’s SAVES resolution, includes two phases: $20,000 of “emergency funding” and additional “enhanced funding” of up to $140,000 that would be doled out in monthly installments to qualifying venues based on a variety of factors. ....
