The dispute between MetroHealth and former CEO Dr. Akram Boutros over allegations of misappropriation of funds continues in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
Dr. Akram Boutros, the former MetroHealth president and CEO who was fired in November after the hospital system's board raised questions about bonuses he authorized for himself, on Thursday, Dec. 15, filed a lawsuit claiming defamation of character, wrongful termination and breach of contract. It's the second lawsuit he has filed against MetroHealth in a little more than two weeks.
