Since that scary oil fire in the gulf. the platform erupted into flames sending the workers into the ocean. it was a close call this time, but federal authorities are investigating that fire. nbc chief environmental affairs correspondent anne thompson is in venice, louisiana now. has the investigation turned up the cause of the fire yet? reporter: not yet, contessa. we do know that yesterday when that fire erupted on that oil platform that there was no production going on. workers had shut down production because they were doing maintenance, they were doing some painting, they were doing some welding on the platform. and so one of the questions obviously is, did those activities have anything to do with the fire that happened? as you said, all 13 members on that platform were rescued and none were seriously injured. the other piece of good news here is that there is no sign of an oil sheen or any kind of oil ....
