Update on several COVID-19 numbers statistics for Fayette County– On Friday, the Fayette County Health Department announced 40 new cases of COVID-19 with no new deaths.  The FCHD says that 10 of those cases were from a congregate facility.  Overall, Fayette County has had 2,223 cases during the pandemic and 39 deaths. In the weekly update from the Illinois Department of Public Health it shows that Fayette County remains in the warning area for COVID-19.  But, Fayette County is not alone.  Only 2 counties Champaign and Piatt are not on the warning list.  For the week of 11/29 through 12/5 Fayette County had a rate of 1448 new cases per 100,000 people.  The goal for that number is to be below 50.  Fayette County had a 25.7% positivity rate during this time, with the goal to be below 8%.
