Welcome back to hannity. the prosecution called medical examiner valerie rao to the stand. she testified about the seriousness of george zimmerman s injuries. take a look at part of what she had to say today. when you said re-enactment, was that an interview, where he conducted a walk-through and led investigators through the scene and explained to them what happened? yes. after reviewing all those items, in terms of severitseverw would you classify the injuries to the defendant s head? they were not life threatening, they were very insignificant, they did not require any sutures to be applied. so as i would refer to them as ....

From photographs in their normal work. they re also working with exa examses of bodies. she did opine that injury to the nose wasn t significant and the injury to the head did not seem significant. the cuts in the back of the head, the bruising and things like that, they could have come from one strike, which i felt a little hard to swallow, and i tend to believe that if valerie rao had been injured with a nose like that, she wouldn t think they were insignificant. that being said, the prosecution scored some points in trying to play down the severity of the injury injuries the problem is, that s not a factor in self-defense. the person doesn t have to be injured. all they have to do is be in fear for their life. that s what the jury has to look at. i m not a physician, i have no real understanding of the severity of mr. zimmerman s injuries or not. it sounds to me like valerie is a bit of a flake, who just found this from a jacksonville paper. ....

Not great force. . so lisa bloom, there s dr. rao again basically saying first of all, the injuries aren t that bad. the injuries aren t significant and based on what i ve seen, it can loos as it if his head was slammed not multiple times but just one time. was that the state s best witness yesterday? i think so. she s a medical witness. jurors tend to like scientific experts. she certainly is up with. and you know, the defense has been putting up those photos of george zimmerman s bloody, the back of had his head and the front of his face with his nose bashed in over and over again. sometimes at end of a court day, you ll see them putting up over and over trying to leave the images with the jurors. she did a good job of undercutting some of that. she said for example the lacerations on the back of the head are very small cuts. yes a lot of blood was dripping down immediately afterwards but ....

Implies great force. and the injuries were not great force. what type of injuries would you expect to see if the defendant s head had been repeatedly slammed into a concrete surface? if somebody s head is repeatedly slammed into concrete with great force i would expect lacerations. i would expect a lot of injuries that would be necessitate suturing. so i don t see that in this picture. dr. rao also said that the injuries to zimmerman s face could have come from just one blow to the nose. all right let s say that i m the one inflicting the blow. if i were to punch myself right here, i would get the injury on the nose and the contusions on ....

George zimmerman really in a life-threatening situation? life-threatening to him? and dr. rao s testimony was the injuries that he suffered were certainly not life-threatening and she used that phrase. that seems to be where the prosecution that is the point they will emphasize in final argument. right, because we know there was some contact there. george zimmerman does have some injuries, but just because you get into a fist fight that doesn t mean you get to then turn around and shoot and kill the other person. and so that is what the prosecutors are arguing about. based on everything we know about george zimmerman, what he said about trayvon martin. his view of him as suspicious, his view of him as a suspect. he was a person who was inclined to overreact, and that is what he did by shooting and killing him. that will be their argument. now, the prosecution is trying to get to the element of second degree murder that they have to reach, which is acting with depraved mind, witho ....
