ALTHOUGH restrictions are gradually easing in Wales community spirit remains important.
Our Still Together campaign aims to highlight the support that is still out there and share stories of hope and inspiration.
This week we found out more about Age Connects Cardiff and the Vale and their tireless efforts to help older people amid a global pandemic.
Age Connects vision is to live in a society where older people are respected and enabled to meet their aspirations - the Cardiff and Vale branch is one of six based in Wales.

Update on coronavirus outbreak at DVLA in Swansea

Since September 1, a total of 560 cases of coronavirus amongst DVLA employees have been identified.
An outbreak in the DVLA’s Swansea Vale Contact Centre was declared on December 21, and since December 1 96 cases have been identified amongst employees that normally work in that building.
Siôn Lingard, consultant in health protection for Public Health Wales, said: “All agencies have been working in close collaboration with the DVLA to reduce the number of cases in this workforce.
“As a result of there being no linked cases amongst Contact Centre staff within the last 28 days, we can confirm that the decision has been taken to declare the outbreak over. ....

Covid outbreak at DVLA in Swansea declared over

The outbreak at the Swansea branch of the DVLA has been declared over, officials have said.
Since then, there has been a vote to strike due to fears of it being an unsafe environment .
Public Health Wales (PHW) said people had to follow coronavirus rules to reduce the risk of transmission.
PHW said it had been working with Swansea Council, Swansea Bay University Health Board and the Health and Safety Executive, and meeting regularly to help the DVLA with managing the workplace.
Since 1 September 2020 a total of 560 cases of Covid-19 among the 6,000 DVLA employees based in Swansea have been identified. ....
