That they are illegal and dangerous. Fireworks can be traumatic for veterans and pets. The city of san jose doubled the fines for those caught setting off fireworks. The fines are expensive. A first offense can cost 1,000. City leaders approved upping fines after the illegal firework activity on july 4th. The big new years eve firework show is not happening this year. There has not been word of any sanctioned firework shows. The absence of having those professional firework shows, we believe has contributed to the use of illegal fireworks in the community. Erica ray says the city logged 6600 complaints on july 4th. The Fire Department responded to 54 fires. We had trouble covering the emergency calls. Start, typical after the rain comes through with a lot of humidity in the air, kind of pretty looking out over the downtown but it gets foggy down on the ground in some spots like the trivalley. But look at the visibility map, you see concord is reporting fog, livermore obviously in San Francisco. When we go to the map look at all the areas where the visibility is below 1 mile, livermore, concorde, fairfield, San Francisco and santa rosa, all of these places this morning when issues with bob on the roadway and it stays this way the next few hours and then will burn off when the sun comes up.
