The money laundering allegations have been made against the Dehradun-based Social Mutual Benefit Company Limited, owned by the wife of a close aide to former Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], March 10 (ANI): A day after Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned from the chief ministerial post, a meeting of the BJP legislature party will be held on Wednesday in which a new Chief Minister candidate is likely to be decided. In the meeting scheduled to be held at around 10 am, five BJP Members of Parliament from the state will also be present. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is also scheduled to participate in the meeting. Dhan Singh Rawat, who is a minister of state in the Uttarakhand government is being considered as the frontrunner for the chief ministerial post. He is considered to be close to the RSS.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat (60) (in pic) rushed to Delhi on Monday to meet BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah amid a strong speculation he may be removed from the post in the wake of half the BJP MLAs revolting against him, 22 of them openly.
The party leadership has ordered a meeting of the BJP legislature party in DehraÂdun on Tuesday, giving a last chance to Rawat to prove he enjoys support of the majority or else exit quietly and allow the observers to install his successor, already finalised, a source said.
