Ukraine launched a long-awaited counteroffensive in the Russian-occupied Kherson region Monday, breaking through Russia’s front line in the southeastern Ukraine oblast, its military said in a statement Monday.
“What Russia took from me cannot be forgiven,” the mother of Liza Dmytrieva says in her first interview since leaving the hospital in Vinnytsia, Ukraine.
The virtual meeting, which included dozens of heads of state and European Union leaders, served almost as a political pep rally for Ukraine. “Winter is coming, and it will be hard,” Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said.
