It all started with the headline, Panthers Russell Okung Becomes First NFL Player to Be Paid in Bitcoin.
Media outlets were quick to jump on it and started publishing their own similar articles.
Unfortunately, the headline is not accurate, and NFL spokesperson told The Verge, adding that his people are converting some of the money into bitcoin after he get paid in US dollars, just like every other NFL player.
By that explanation, anyone could be paid in bitcoin if they decided to use their salary to buy bitcoin.
I guess NFL Player Decides to Use Salary to Buy Bitcoin doesn t have the same oomph behind it.
