It's been two years since the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Afghanistan is enjoying peace not seen in decades but the UN says there have been dozens of attacks on civilians, some claimed by Islamic State rivals of the Taliban.
The head of the US mission to Afghanistan, Ian McCary said that the United States will continue to hold the Taliban accountable for the commitments they made to not turn Afghanistan into a safe haven for terrorists.
US Special Representative for Afghanistan said that the Taliban misconstrued facts in its recent letter to the US Congress warning of humanitarian consequences if the US fails to unfreeze more than USD 9 billion in Afghan assets.
