Dec 15, 2020 10:49:00 AM Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa category 3 is expected to intensify to a category 5 in its projected path. TC Yasa was located about 640 kilometers West North West of Nadi at midnight. Tropical Cyclone Number 43 issued 1at 7.30 pm yesterday projects that the storm to intensify to a category 5 storm just north of Rotuma. Meanwhile, a heavy rain alert has been issued for the Eastern half of Viti Levu that includes areas from Navua, Pacific Harbour, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu and Rakiraki, and the maritime regions like Taveuni, Yasawa, and the Mamanuca group. The torrential downpour is expected to bring about flash flooding in low lying areas adjacent to Vatukacevaceva to Rakiraki Town, Dreketilailai to Qawa River, Labasa, Upper Nadarivatu, and Monasavu. ....
