UP Police Exam Cancelled: The UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 has been cancelled following reports of paper leaks, affecting over 48 lakh aspirants. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the decision, stating that the exam will be re-conducted within six months. This decision comes after protests by civil service aspirants and the registration of an FIR by Lucknow police. Opposition leaders have criticized the BJP government and demanded a CBI inquiry into the incidents. The cancellation underscores the government s commitment to maintaining the sanctity of examinations.
The examination, conducted on February 11 at 2,387 centres across 58 districts in UP, had seen participation from 64 per cent of the total 10,76,004 registered candidates. A total of 411 vacancies were to be filled by the examination.
