them back. this is american voices. hello, everyone i m julio castro in for alicia menendez. we begin this hour with president trump s rage against democracy. and those calling it what it truly is, a danger to democracy. saturday in wilkes-barre, pennsylvania, trump ranted for more than two hours at a rally for pennsylvania s gubernatorial candidate doug mastriano and gop senate candidate doctor oz. it was the former guy s first public rally and speech since the fbi search at mar-a-lago last month. as you can imagine, it quickly devolved into nothing more than a tirade against the man who beat him, president joe biden. he called biden an enemy of the state and the fbi and the department of justice, vicious monsters. well it s pretty much always the case, trump is clearly more angry at biden-than-normal after biden gave a primetime speech last week and philly, trying a clear line between maga and mainstream republicans. and this morning, just hours after donald trump muddy t
speech. is one, whether you re a fox news viewer, i talk radio listener, you are hearing the exact same thing. so, they re calling a satanic. they are saying that joe biden was encouraging or trying to incite violence. they are warning of false flags. this is universal. they are springing up conspiracies. they re giving a wink and a nod to some of the qanon conspiracy theories. but they are all saying the same thing. that s the first thing that i think is sort of disturbing and notable. they are in lockstep here. the second thing that i think is notable is this. they are not willing to accept a distinction that president biden drew. so, when you carve out a segment and says, these sort of extremists are the real part of the problem, the same way that we would ve talked about, say, the charlottesville riders, what the right-wing media says it is, it s all of us. we are all one in the same. i think that s the important takeaway here.
