Amaravati: Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram chaired the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting on Thursday morning ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Budget 2021. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Ministers Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Kursala Kannababu, Anil Kumar Yadav, and Chief Whip Srikanth Reddy also presided over the meeting.
The BAC (Business Advisory Committee) agreed that the meetings would last only a day. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will address the house after the budget is presented.
A decision on the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant will be taken later. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister is expected to pass a resolution against the privatization of VSP after the Budget Session concludes. The Andhra Pradesh State Budget for 2021–22, which includes sub-plans for women, BC, SC, ST, and minorities, will be adopted in the Legislative Assembly soon.

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Budget session will begin on May 20. Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.
The Fifteenth AP Legislative Assembly would meet for its sixth session at 9 am on May 20, the notification said. The Assembly and Legislative Council will convene at 9 am
The government will table the full-time Budget in both the Houses for passage and the Houses will be adjourned after passing the same without any discussion.
Whether the budget session will be a one-day affair or for an extended will be decided after the Business Advisory Committee meeting will be convened by the Speaker of the Assembly and the Chairman of the Council to decide the number of days of sitting and the agenda of the session.
In the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, all preparations are being made to conduct the COVID-19 tests of the MLAs, MLCs and other staff members, including the security personnel.
