(Google map Dinagat Islands) BUTUAN CITY - Only one coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) case was recorded in the Province of Dinagat Islands in the last four weeks. This is based on the weekly report provided by the Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13), which covers recorded Covid-19 cases from Aug.14 to Sept. 10. In the last four weeks, a total of 990 Covid-19 infections were recorded in the region, 374 of the cases were in the cities and 616 in the provinces. A total of 1,009 recoveries and 35 deaths were also logged in the region during the period. "This is the result of our concerted efforts to curb the further spread of Covid-19 in our province," Dinagat Island Gov. Nilo Demerey Jr. said in a phone interview on Saturday. He added that the provincial government has also instituted measures to shield the island province from Covid-19 and the massive information drive urging residents to get vaccinated.
