Tributes pour in for Cork soprano Cara O Sullivan, 59, as Taoiseach praises beautiful voice and warmest personality

Cara retired from singing in 2018 after being diagnosed with early onset dementia and died today at Marymount University Hospice. 2 2 Taoiseach Micheal Martin paid tribute to the singerCredit: AFP or Licensors Cara grew up in Frankfield, Cork and grew up in a musical family full of singers. She is survived by her three siblings, Aoife, Nuala and Jim, and her daughter Christine. Cara s family first noticed her budding talent when she was 12. She went on to attend Cork School of Music and perform all over the world including at the Paris Opera, Sydney Opera House and London’s Royal Albert Hall.
