Report it to the police and before we get into your book i was hoping you would say maybe give me some of the statistics you came across a show me how underreported it is the ones that stuck out to you. Guest there are very various figures from a low of 60 of rapes are unreported to more accurately probably 80 or 85 of all rapes go unreported to authorities. Which is kind of astonishing. That goes a long way to explain why this debate and uncertainty about how many women are raped every year. There is a study by the centers for Disease Control a recent study i think it was published in 2014 the shows over the course of a lifetime 19 of american women will have been raped. Thats the one in five we first talked about which is attacked questioned by many. There is also a report by the Justice Department which is a very different kind of reporting.
