UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. When I found out on Sunday what had happened, I just couldn t believe it. It s so sad, said Lyuba Bukhshtaber.
A heartbroken Bukhshtaber cannot believe on late Saturday night two people, whom she adored, were both shot and killed in separate shootings.
Police say someone shot and killed Barbara Goodkin while she was riding in her car with her husband down Delmar in University City.
Goodkin s husband, Stanley, also shot in his chest. ....

Forensic evidence links 2 St. Louis County shootings


Police said the first shooting happened in the 8200 block of Delmar about two miles west of the Delmar Loop at around 10:50 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, the victims, a couple in their 70s, had already driven to a hospital.
At the time, they were driving a new high-end SUV.
The 74-year-old man was shot in the chest.

Suspect in University City murder arrested and charged

UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. A Maplewood man suspected in a fatal shooting in University City has been arrested and charged.
Cole Miller, 23, of Maplewood, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and receiving stolen property. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Sharif Khan of Creve Coeur, died at a hospital after University City police found him with gunshot wounds at 762 W. Canterbury Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Police recovered two .380-caliber shell casings at the scene and a cellphone later determined to belong to Miller. He was arrested Wednesday night at a bar and grill on South Big Bend Boulevard in Maplewood. Officers found Miller’s truck with a .380 Ruger LCP inside. The gun had been reported missing in Franklin County. ....

UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. A man was fatally shot after a homeowner found him in his garage early Friday morning.
According to University City police, officers responded to the 7500 block of Liberty Avenue for a shooting reported by a homeowner around 12:25 a.m.
Officers arrived on scene and found a man dead in a detached garage. The homeowner said he confronted the unknown burglar while in his garage.  ....
