City holds first Lakeshore Shuffle 5K Run & Walk

The sun shone on Evanston Saturday morning as racers lined up at the Lakeshore Shuffle 5K Run & Walk starting line. The city hosted the event for the first time, a 5K run along Evanston’s lakefront. The city started planning the event in January, according to special events coordinator Amanda D’Agostino. D’Agostino said the city.

Students advocate for increased compost bin presence on campus

Some Northwestern students are calling on the University to increase student access to composting bins.  All back-of-house kitchens at NU, including those in dining halls and Norris University Center, currently compost waste from food prep stations, leftover food and some prepared food, according to the sustainNU website.  NU composts about 3.6 tons of food waste.
