LOCK HAVEN Lock Haven University recently completed an eight-week study to observe mask use on campus as part of the CDC’s Mask Adherence Surveillance at Colleges and Universities Project (MASCUP). More than 50 colleges and universities across the country participated in the study during the spring semester.
The LHU Health Science Club took the lead under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Rudella and Dr. Beth McMahon. Rudella is co-advisor for the club and McMahon serves as COVID coordinator for the university as part of the COVID-19 Institutional Response Team. The Psychology Club was under the direction of Dr. Cheryl Newburg. ....

Public health students reflect on year since Western shifted to distance learning

KALAMAZOO, Mich. It has been a full year since the growing COVID-19 pandemic changed the world and shifted Western Michigan University to distance learning. Over those 365 days, the community has experienced losses, dramatic change, isolation and uncertainty, but the period has also been a time of hope, innovation, resilience and adaptation.
A year of resilience, innovation
In the face of adversity, the Western community rose up to support each other and find new ways to create and connect.
