MENASHA - Peter Gianopolous has been volunteering and working with nonprofits in the Fox Valley since he moved to Neenah in 1980, when he was in high school.
He s done a variety of community work, from picking up trash to serving on boards for Children s Hospital Wisconsin, Fox Valley Symphony and United Way Fox Cities.
Gianopolous is eager to get even more involved as he takes on his new job as the United Way Fox Cities president and CEO. As much as I ve given, I ve gotten back tenfold, he said. No word can describe that feeling. But I still have a lot to do, because I m still standing.

APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – The United Way Fox Cities’ is celebrating a successful community campaign, despite a difficult year for many in 2020.
Like many things in 2020, the United Way Fox Cities annual community campaign had to make some adjustments to their original plans.
“We sat down, reassessed our top campaigns, and re evaluated things, and felt that we were going to be lucky to try to raise $7 million this year,” said President and CEO, Peter Kelly. “It was really uncertain as we kicked things off, but as the year progressed we all learned how to adapt. In that process, we were able to connect with our donors virtually.”
