Delta 變種病毒導致亞洲疫情反撲，許多國家切斷船員的陸路運輸，船長無法讓人力輪替，約 10 萬名船員滯留海上無法入港，令人想起去年也曾出現同樣的情況。
國際海運公會 (ICS) 秘書長 Guy Platten 說：「這是全球供應鏈的危急時刻。」
德國貨櫃輪商 Hapag Lloyd(HPGLY-US) 表示，船隻運力相當吃緊，空的貨櫃輪很缺，某些港口和碼頭的情況沒有真正改善，「我們擔心問題會延續到第 4 季，一切很難說。」

台灣海碩集團 (OEC Group) 主管表示，亞洲和美國港口物流大塞車，「可能要到明年 3 月才能清掉這些等待運輸的貨物。」
