As a candy maker before coming to San Francisco in in in 1985 to start her new life with her children and sister. She was known as a vibrant and enthusiastic member of our community who let no barrier stand in her way. When she arrived she spoke no english with only a first grade education but she was determined to be successful and she immediately signed up for city College Classes and soon was on her way. She spent 7 years taking english classes at city college and became a leader among her peers and helped countless people in her Community Learn english.
