A five-year-old star  from Watford has been crowned ‘top mathlete’ after winning her category of a global competition.
Gold medal winner Elsa from Cassiobury Infant and Nursery School, Watford, scooped the award in the UK Reception category of the World Maths Day challenge.
Elsa and her classmates competed with more than one million students from 17,000 schools. 
The gold medal winner said: “I really love maths and love winning points, it’s so exciting!”
Event organiser Graham Frickers from 3P Learning, the creators of the Mathletics platform on which the global challenge is hosted, said: “The response to this year’s competition has been incredible – there is a global buzz about maths. ....
