ASX to drop, Wall St slides on labour market weakness

The S&P/ASX 200 Index closed just a tenth of a point higher at 6885.9 points on Thursday.
Australian shares are poised to open lower amid broad selling overseas, triggered by some earnings misses including from Airbus. Wall Street sank as data pointed to lingering weakness in the labour market.
ASX futures were down 32 points or 0.5 per cent to 6805 near 8am AEDT. The currency edged up. The yield on the US 10-year note edged 2 basis points higher to 1.29 per cent.
