HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ - The Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners formalized another open space and land preservation initiative, adding the 97-acre CRC Mine Road property in Bethlehem Township to Hunterdon County’s land inventory.
This project was initiated by the nonprofit Hunterdon Land Trust, in Flemington.
In 2019, Hunterdon County awarded two grants that stirred this latest land preservation to the forefront, one grant to the Hunterdon Land Trust and another to Bethlehem Township, to fund 50% of the project. As the acquisition progressed, the county Department of Planning and Land Use determined this parcel to be a good fit into the Hunterdon County Parks’ system, as the land is adjacent to the county’s Tower Hill preserve.
