SEMINOLES HEAD TO CALIFORNIA FOR CENTER OF EFFORT CHALLENGE

Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 4 Florida State Seminoles (27-4) travel to San Luis Obispo, Calif. this weekend April 14-15 to take part in the Center of Effort Challenge. The Noles will take on No. 11 Long Beach State (19-11), No. 2 USC (21-1), No. 6 LMU (21-4), and one more opponent that will be decided based on how the FSU does in the earlier matches.

Friday will start with the Noles meeting No. 11 Long Beach State on the sand for the first time this season at 1:00 p.m. ET. The all-time record is currently tied at 5-5. The last time these two teams met was in 2019 in Los Angeles, Calif. where the Noles came away with a 5-0 win. LBSU is coming off a 9-3 record at the Bigger West Invitational.

The last match Friday will be against No. 2 USC at 6:00 p.m. ET. In another 2022 National Championship rematch, the Noles and the Women of Troy met at the East vs. West Invitational this year where USC came away with a narrow 3-2 win in the third set on court three. The series re ....

SEMINOLES SPLIT DAY 2 OF UNCONQUERED INVITATIONAL

Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 3 Florida State Seminoles split day two of the Unconquered Invitational with two close matches. All matches were played to decision due to the weather.

FSU 1, No. 7 LMU 3

Florida State got off to a rocky start against No. 7 LMU. All but one court went to three sets.

Alexis Durish and Makenna Wolfe kept their set close, dropping the first set 21-19. The pair took the second set to extra points but LMU ultimately got the win 23-21.

On court two Audrey Koenig and Carra Sassack won the first set 21-18, then dropped the second set a very close 21-19. The third set was another close one as Koenig and Sassack fought hard to keep the set close. The duo battled but ended up dropping the set 15-13. This win gave LMU their second dual point.

SEMINOLES START UNCONQUERED INVITATIONAL 2-0

Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 3 Florida State Seminoles started off the Unconquered Invitational 2-0. The Noles beath Southern Miss and conference foe No. 5 LSU on the day.

FSU 5, Southern Miss 0

The Noles came out hot for the first match of the day, sweeping Southern Miss 5-0.

Raelyn White and Caitlin Godwin were dominant on court three. The duo took the first set efficiently with a 21-5 win. White and Godwin carried their momentum into the second set and quickly got the win 21-13.

Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff were on a mission on court one. The duo were surgical in both sets, winning 21-15 in the first set and 21-18 in the second set.

Alex Hilton and Cassie Anderson played well on court five, not letting Southern Miss have a chance to take a dual point. The pair won the first set 21-14 and played even better in the second set to win 21-13.

INDOOR VOLLEYBALL TAKES ON FLORIDA SATURDAY IN TULLY GYM

Florida State’s athletic campus should be full of volleyball fans on Saturday with Beach Volleyball hosting the Unconquered Invitational and an indoor volleyball match against the Gators set for 12:30 p.m. in Tully Gym. “The players have put in a lot of work this spring and we look forward to finishing our spring training on Saturday against Florida,” FSU head indoor volleyball coach Chris Poole said Friday. “It is always fun to play an opponent during spring and we want all our fans to come out and support beach volleyball and invite them to our indoor match at 12:30.” Both the indoor volleyball scrimmage against UF and the Saturday beach volleyball matches are free of charge with concessions available at the beach courts.
